A Humbling Experience

Was put through a humbling experience today. I FAILED my IPPT.

You know IPPT - Individual Physical Proficiency Test - the one where they put you through stations and stations of physical test like hamsters or gerbils and ends with a 2.4km run? Yah...finally I failed the test.

I NEVER fail the test. I never fail the run. I was so confident of it (that I can pass the test) that I didn't really train for it. Heh, 2.4 km run below 12min is chicken feed. No sweat. All the way. Haha.

But today I FAILED. My chest felt packed, my breathing heavy, my back ached and my legs were like concretes! I thought death was upon me. I did not stop but neither could I speed up.

While heaving and puffing up and down the slopes of Admiralty West I saw an apparition....I tot it was the Angel Of Death but the face was that of my Boss...."HAHAHA...you call this crappy piece of shitty jog a run? HAHAHAH"....I was delusional.

After the run and listening to the dismal result, I could only hang my head low and head for the shower in total disgust and embarassment. Was holding a can of H2O and felt like wanting to crawl into that Can and stayed there forever.

It was a truly humbling experience. I will never be so complacent or over confident again.
