Blogging About Your baby = Narcissm?

Consider this phrase "The baby blog in many cases is an online shrine to parental self-absorption", taken from THIS ARTICLE from the New York Times.

If you are a parent, why would you blog about your baby? Why would you blog every single diaper change or every small incremental new motor skills your baby managed to perform (or so you think)?

I am not sure. And I can't answer it now as MY baby is crying now and I have to get quickly over to her before another BIG BABY (the wifey) woke up and throw a storm and thunder. Will continue tomorrow. Meanwhile, go read the article.
