Unhappiness

Unhappiness at work is when you have to attend a meaningless meeting that achieve nothing but talk and more talk. Especially one that you are not supposed to be in but somehow find yourself there by vitue of someone else needed to be somewhere else.

OK, so Boss was not in and I have to sit in for him. Wasn't briefed or appraised fully of what to expect and so came to meeting wearing the dumbest of look on face.

"So Bob, what was your unit take on that?"

Take on what? Howdahell am i suppose to know, i'm just covering some big asses which was probably enjoying some pina colada at some white beaches with some bitches.

I went like, "Ummm...ahhh...errrr...we are in the final process of consolidation and examining the parameters very closely....ummm...will get back to the managment as soon as anything worth reporting turns up" and I slinked down the chair hoping to slowly melt into the furniture.

The Chairman gave me the look one would cast upon a cockroach, but, he being himself, gave a wry smile and a nod to indicate some kind of acknowledgement.

I could have just taped that response and played it back everytime an input were sought from me (me who is reperesenting my unit) because I do not have anything worthy to actually response to all the questions and queries.

I felt so dumb (and most probably looked equally so) and burned inside at the "Tai Chi"-ing that had beed done upon me just because someone (Boss) needed to clear his leave in December.

I'm not making much sense here am I? Its few minute to New Year and I am at home and NOT out there with the crowds and fireworks. That hurts.
