Olympics & Other Life Changing Events

I have ascended to the pinnacle of apathy (ok, sports-apathy) when the only thing that fills me with excitement about the Olympic is the Athen Olympic Sports Stadium - mainly becos of Santiago Calatrava's genius work of art (architecture). Other than that is like...."Oh...okay".

What are the main events that is happening in YOUR life for the past 6 months?

Olympics?Singapore Idol?Lee Hsien Loong's ascension to the "divine" throne? No enough EGGS in the market?

3 things for me:

  • Got meself a Son
  • Got meself a promotion
  • Understood my wife a little bit more better (you'll NEVER understand them totally, but its like a small step for me and a big leap for MANkind)

Whatever it is, or they are, monumental and life-changing events are happening around you every single second of your life....you only need to be aware of it.

Quote For The Day

"I hope to not just laugh, but to laugh uncontrollably. I hope to not just cry, but to wail deeply. I hope to not just find the elusive "alone together" place within, but to hold, and be held in it. I hope my refection on the lake dissipates and I can see into the waters." ~~Mark O'Brien

Mark passed away in a car accident earlier this year. Good bye Mark.

No she's NOt gone

OK Amy wasn't gone...as in gone off into the deep void or join the choir invisible or something of that sort. She needed time for herself and in the process cleared her every digital traces.

But she's back! yay!

Naan Lunch

Had lunch with Lena, Rena and Matthew at Delhi Darbar somewhere in the Indian Ocean that is Serangoon Road. I brought Mikail and Luqman in the car while Lena, Rena and Matthew came straight from Darul Arqam after their classes.
The Naan (some kind of Northern Indian bread or prata-looking stuff) was really great. Nice company, nice lunch and the price just right. X'cuse me, brrrp.

Ghost Story

Last night the maid (Siti) informed us (or rather me, since she can't really comms with Lena well) that she saw a ghost. Ghost? How'd u know its a ghost? (do they sort of like wave to you and say, "Hey lookit here me a ghost!!"?). Siti related that while she was downstairs early in the morning (around 5am) a women with long hair and white dress (I have to admit, at this point, that IS a standard-issued ghost attire) called on to her from a window of an empty flat (yep, the flat is actually at the same level as mine and is vacant, on sale sort of). They talked and the alleged ghost told her (in Javanese, how convenient?) that she, the ghost, has been there for years.

I have no question as to the validity or truth of her story but what interest me now is this question: Do I have a mentally imbalance maid? Was the story a product of some psychoses or neuroses? Or was it a lie, a fabrication, that have a role in her bigger scheme of things? And oh yes, am I paranoid? (No I am not...but will she set the house on fire when we are all asleep? AARRRGGH!)

To use an analogy of a country in a 911 alert, I am colored ORANGE. I am on a lookout now for signs of deep cognitive imbalances that may manifest itself in her daily chores. (Sigh....she could be telling the truth. But still.)

Mikail's B'day

Lena kinda excited about this 28th Aug. Mikail's 3rd year. Wowzee....they grow so fast....from a helpless clot of flesh and blood to a jumping, crashing, laughing small human within a few years.

Drew this in Flash and colored in Photoshop for the invites. Gonna have it this time at Gymboree...so its gonna be a party (pyjamas) for 3 yrs old only...Mom and Dad optional.

Yahoo Result

Heheh this bloggie is currently ranked No. 24 if you do a Yahoo Search for "Braless Teenagers". And no, I did not have the time or interest in using the search engine for that purpose, it recorded in the bStat (the script that Blogger run to collect visitors URL and referrers - phew! me got an alibi).
